asked the Minister for Defence the entitlement of FCA personnel to pay in relation to the performance of 24 hour duties at week-ends; and if they are entitled to one or two days pay, as applicable to full time FCA personnel.

: Members of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil may with their own consent be employed on security duties. If so employed at week-ends (Friday to Monday) such members are entitled to payment as follows for the periods indicated:—

Period

Pay Issuable

Over 16 hours and not exceeding 30 hours

One days' pay

Over 30 hours and not exceeding 54 hours

Two days' pay

Over 54 hours and not exceeding 72 hours

Three days' pay

Personnel employed on full-time security duties are, of course, paid on a continuous basis.
