Vol. 341 No. 3

Written Answers . - Medical Card Withdrawal .

617.

asked the Minister for Health the reason for the withdrawal of a medical card from a person (details supplied) in County Dublin, who is unemployed.

: Medical cards are issued in such cases with a review date six months after the date of issue. As this card was issued in October 1982 it would now be due for review and a review form has been issued to the card holder for completion. Unless a significant improvement has occurred in this card holder's circumstances, leading to his income exceeding the guidelines for determining eligibility, the health board anticipate that the medical card will be retained in this case.
