, Limerick East): The precise arrangements made for the allocation of manpower between foot patrols and other duties in any particular area are decided by the local Garda officers, having regard to available resources, local circumstances and other demands on Garda services.

The Garda authorities report that they consider that the area in question is receiving as much Garda attention as practicable at present from both foot and mobile patrols. They also report that the high incidence of burglaries in the area has been receiving special attention from the Detective Branch personnel and that this has resulted in a significant improvement in the detection rate in respect of such crimes. They state that the area will continue to receive as much attention as possible and that every effort is being made to deploy the available Garda resources to best advantage in dealing with the crime situation there.
