asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

: The application in this case was received on 7 April 1983. A form S.L. 4, has been issued to the applicant for completion and certification by his inspector of taxes. In the meantime, an early inspection is being arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if otherwise in order.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly which was requested eight weeks ago has not been carried out.

: The Department's inspector visited this house recently but was unable to gain admittance. A further inspection by appointment is being arranged.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly which was requested ten weeks ago has not been carried out.

: Arrangements are being made to have an inspection carried out in this case at an early date.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a certificate approving a house improvement grant has not been issued to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

: The certificate of approval in this case issued on 1 February 1983.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant inspection has not been carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

: Arrangements have been made for an early inspection in this case with a view to payment of the grant. The inspection was held up by an industrial relations problem relating to a vacancy in the inspectorate staff which came within the scope of current restrictions on the filling of vacant posts.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason approval for a new house grant has not issued to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

: There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: There is no record in my Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

There is, however, an application under the former scheme from a person of this name with a broadly similar address to whom a maximum sewerage grant of £150 was paid in July 1981. The reconstruction grant which was approved at the time is not payable as, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme under the Housing Regulations 1980 (as amended), notification of the completion of work and a claim for payment of the grant were not received in the Department on or before 30 June 1981.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

: The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

711.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: Grants for the provision of sewerage and bathroom facilities will be paid shortly in this case. On receipt of notification of completion of works, a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant for repairs to the fabric of the house.
