Vol. 341 No. 9

Written Answers . - Grant Payments .

654.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when it will be paid.

: A grant for major necessary works to the basic fabric of the house could not be allowed in this case because contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme a period of ten years had not elapsed since payment of a previous grant. Grants were not allowable either in respect of the provision of a chimney or bathroom and sewerage as these facilities already existed in the house; neither could a grant be allowed in respect of an additional bedroom as there was no evidence of overcrowding. The applicant has been so informed.

655.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

656.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a final inspection carried out for the payment of a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application has been submitted for some time; and if he will approve a mortgage subsidy.

: The file in this case has been referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to approval of a grant and mortgage subsidy.

657.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a £1,000 new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work has been completed and the final inspection requested.

: There is no record in my Department of an application for a new house grant from the person named at the address given. There is, however, an application from a person of the same name with an address at a different townland near Mooncoin and in this case a grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is complete and occupied and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. An inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

658.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a £1,000 new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work has been inspected and passed; and if he will arrange to have approval issued for a mortgage subsidy.

: The grant will be paid as soon as possible. Approval to the mortgage subsidy was issued to the applicant on 22 September 1982.
