Vol. 342 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Transport.

834.

asked the Minister for Education if she will clarify whether parents who are holders of medical cards have free transport for their children to the nearest (a) secondary post-primary school, (b) technical post-primary school and (c) community post-primary school, when no such school is in their catchment area.

Parents who hold medical cards and whose children are eligible under the post-primary school transport scheme, may be excused the post-primary school transport contribution if their children are attending their appropriate post-primary centre. A centre is not deemed to be inappropriate merely because it does not contain a particular category of post-primary school.
