asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in paying grants in respect of a school (details supplied) in County Cork.

A report, with a recommendation for grant purposes is awaited from the Commissioners of Public Works regarding certain improvements carried out at Bishop Murphy Memorial School, Fermoy, County Cork. The question of a grant will be considered as soon as the commissioners' report has been received.

A report has recently been received concerning the provision of a new boiler and roof insulation. A decision will be conveyed to the chairman at an early date.

Documentation relating to the provision of furniture which was sent to the Department has not been received. Copies are to be forwarded by the chairman. A grant will be sanctioned when the fresh documentation has been received and examined.

A report and recommendation for grant purposes is awaited from the Commissioners of Public Works in relation to improvements carried out to the Presentation Convent School, Fermoy, County Cork.

The question of sanctioning a grant will be dealt with as quickly as possible following receipt of the commissioners' report.

A grant was sanctioned by my Department on 21 March 1983, towards the cost of improvements at Clondulane national school, County Cork. Payment of the grant is a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works.
