Vol. 342 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

614.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford whose house is ready for inspection.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

615.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house inspection for a new house grant will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and the reason for the delay.

There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. An inspection of the house is being arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

616.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Waterford is entitled to a water and sewerage grant.

Grants in respect of the installation of water and sewerage facilities and the building of a bathroom cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. Neither can a grant for the building of an extra bedroom be allowed as it was not established on inspection that overcrowding existed in the house. The applicant has been so informed.

617.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a £1,000 new house grant from the person named.
