It has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named, who applied on 6 September 1976, because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the 01 area.

It is expected that service will be provided about the end of this year.

It is expected that four lines will be provided within about a month and that the balance of requirements will be met within about a year.

The kiosk at Ard Lorcan will be restored to proper working order as soon as the necessary engineering stores come to hand.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the provision of extra telephone kiosks to service the community at Rivervalley-Rathingle, Swords, County Dublin.

It is planned to provide an additional kiosk to serve Rivervalley Estate-Rathingle, Swords. It will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary consents to a suitable site have been obtained.

Service was restored on this line on 4 May following payment of the account. The subscriber is being written to about the difficulties referred to.

The provision of telephone kiosks at Crimlin West and Gleann Treig are not considered warranted at present and it is therefore not proposed to provide kiosks at these locations.

It is planned to provide a telephone kiosk at Drisaghaun. However, the provision of a kiosk at this location requires the construction of a major new pole route in the area and it will be some considerable time before a kiosk can be provided there.

The question of resiting the kiosk at the Community School, Balrothery, is being examined. The Deputy will be communicated with as soon as the examination is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a public telephone kiosk in Annascaul Village, County Kerry, is out of order most of the time; and the steps he will take to ensure that it is kept in continuous operation.

The telephone kiosk at Annascaul Village is in working order at present and apart from a recent break in service caused by a cable fault, is normally in continuous operation.

This kiosk and others in the area are checked on a regular basis to ensure that they are maintained in good working order.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry who retired in 1983 following 52½ years' service as a postman with his Department is not in receipt of a pension.

The person mentioned was employed as an auxiliary postman; this grade is a part-time one and does not attract pension. The person concerned did, however, qualify for and was paid a gratuity on his retirement.
