Vol. 342 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kenmare (Kerry) District Hospital Extension.

744.

asked the Minister for Health if he is prepared to give top priority to providing a ten-bedroom extension to Kenmare District Hospital, County Kerry, in view of the urgent need for the extension and in view of previous commitments; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

At present I am reviewing the capital allocation of my Department. Having regard to the number of contractual commitments entered into, the level of resource likely to be available to me and the priorities of all the health agencies, I regret that I see little prospect, in current economic circumstances, of work on the extension at Kenmare District Hospital starting soon.
