Vol. 342 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

835.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when grant aid under the farm modernisation scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The local office of the Department has not yet been notified by the applicant that the work has been completed. When notification is received a final inspection will be carried out and if the work is satisfactorily completed the grant will be paid without delay.

836.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a sheep subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo which was sent to Dublin from Davitt House in November, 1982.

The person named has now been paid his sheep headage grant under the 1982 disadvantaged areas schemes and first instalment of 1982-83 ewe premium. Delay arose in this case because the person named was a first-time applicant under these schemes, and it was necessary to arrange for his registration as a flock owner before payment could be made.
