Vol. 342 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

613.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny is receiving a tax free allowance for two children only when in fact he claimed for four children.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, following a review of the circumstances in this case by the inspector of taxes on 3 May 1983, the tax-free allowances due to the taxpayer for 1983-84 have been increased to include relief for four children. It is understood that any adjustments necessary in the taxpayer's liability under PAYE for that year will be implemented by the employer on 18 May, 1983.
