Vol. 342 No. 8

Written Answers. - Livestock Feed Prices.

640.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the difficulties caused to farmers by the current high level of livestock feed prices; and, if so, the action he proposes to take to relieve the situation.

With a view to relieving the feed price situation here, it has been agreed in this week's EEC agricultural price package that 50,000 tonnes of feed grain from intervention stocks in other member states will be transferred to this country. I am pressing to have the implementing arrangements concluded as quickly as possible.
