I propose to take Questions Nos. 797 to 802, inclusive, and 804 and 805 together.

An exemption from payment of the relevant school transport charge is granted only to eligible post-primary pupils attending their appropriate centre school. It is not granted to pupils attending a school outside the catchment area of the appropriate centre school. Accordingly, my Department has not available to it the statistical information requested in the questions from the Deputy.

803.

asked the Minister for Education the number of children in County Westmeath who were refused second level school transport last week even though their parents had paid the required fees; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a similar question (No. 848) on 17 May 1983.

My Department has not available to it the statistical information requested by the Deputy.
