Vol. 342 No. 10

Written Answers. - School Transport.

808.

asked the Minister for Education if she had any alternative school transport scheme costed and worked out; if so, if she is studying it; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have received the representations from PAMBO to which I referred in reply to Question No. 481 on 22 February 1983.

These proposals are being considered, inter alia, in the context of the review of the school transport service which is taking place at present.

809.

asked the Minister for Education when a bus ticket will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is attending Mitchelstown post primary school; and the reason it was not issued on payment of the bus fees.

The issue of tickets to individual pupils is the responsibility of Córas Iompair Éireann who are charged with the organisation of the school transport scheme at local level. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on the circumstances of the issue, or not, of a ticket in the case of an individual pupil.
