Vol. 342 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

619.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying an improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The house improvement grant of £400 approved in this case under the old scheme was paid on 21 July 1980.

620.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection for a new house grant will take place for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

An application for a house improvement grant was received from this person in 1981 and the Department's inspector reported then that a new house was being constructed. The relevant application form was sent to her for completion but to date the completed form has not been returned to my Department.

621.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will take place in respect of a house improvement grant application for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

622.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The application in this case was submitted in 1979 and a house improvement grant could not be allowed because the works which were the subject of the application did not come within the scope of the relevant scheme.

623.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied and that the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

624.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of grants due to persons (details supplied) in County Kerry in respect of the Rangue group water supply scheme at Killorglin, County Kerry, will be paid.

Grants were allocated to the Rangue group water scheme on 23 August 1974. On 2 July 1975 two grants were paid to the group, but there is no record of any further contact with them since that time. I have now arranged that my Department's local inspector will call on the group organiser and check on the up-to-date position.

625.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

This application was rejected because the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum area allowable for grant purposes which is 125 square metres (1,346 sq. ft). The applicant has been so informed.
