Vol. 342 No. 10

Written Answers. - Irish Ambassador to German Federal Republic.

627.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs when the Government intends to appoint an Irish ambassador to the German Democratic Republic.

In November 1980 Ireland and the German Democratic Republic agreed to exchange diplomatic representatives at ambassador level on a non-resident basis. The German Democratic Republic accredited their Ambassador in London to Ireland on 15 October 1981. The appointment of an Ambassador from Ireland to the German Democratic Republic is under consideration and a date has not been decided upon.
