asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a public telephone will be installed at Ballyhack, County Wexford, where there is now a ferry service to Passage East, County Waterford.

It had been planned to provide a kiosk at Ballyhack. However, the programme for the provision of rural kiosks is under review at present in the light of the financial position generally and it is not possible at this stage to say when a kiosk may be provided at the location in question.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed before the end of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will take immediate action to have the telephone number of a firm (details supplied) in Dublin 10 restored to proper working order; the reason the line was out of order for approximately six weeks; and the reason his Department, despite constant contact with them by the firm, have taken no action to repair the line; and if he is aware that this firm's business has consequently been put in jeopardy.

Service has been restored to this subscriber. The delay in effecting repairs was due to a series of faults affecting the subscriber's line including an underground cable fault.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a telephone has not been provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8.

It has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named because of the large volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the Dublin area. Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed before the end of this year.
