Vol. 342 No. 11

Written Answers. - Social Assistance.

58.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will expedite an appeal in respect of a reduction in social assistance from £75 to £5 in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

The person concerned was supplied with an application form to enable him to appeal against the amount assessed against him but he has not so far returned it. When he does so his case will be referred to an appeals officer for determination and the rate of unemployment assistance payable to him will be reviewed in the light of the decision of the appeals officer.
