Vol. 342 No. 11

Written Answers. - Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

559.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the first instalment of a mortgage subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The mortgage subsidy scheme applies only when a mortgage was executed on or after 10 April 1981. The mortgage subsidy is not payable in this case as the mortgage deed was executed on 3 March 1981. The applicant has been so informed.

560.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the first instalment of a mortgage subsidy will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid as soon as possible.

561.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick as the final inspection was carried out, and approval given during the month of February.

As already indicated in my reply of 15 March 1983 there was no undue delay in dealing with this case. The £1,000 new house grant has now been paid.

My Department are awaiting the submission of further information by the applicant, on receipt of which arrangements will be made for payment of the first instalment of the subsidy.
