Vol. 342 No. 11

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Phone Kiosk.

569.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the public telephone kiosk which was erected by his Department some time ago alongside No. 79 St. Maelruan's Park, Tallaght, County Dublin, was in fact originally intended to be erected in the adjoining Watergate estate, and that the present location is entirely unsuitable in that the kiosk cannot be kept under observation and has been constantly vandalized; and if he will arrange in the circumstances for it to be re-located in a location where it can be better preserved for public use.

The resiting of the kiosk at St. Maelruan's Park is not considered warranted at present. The kiosk like the many kiosks in the Tallaght area is subject to a degree of vandalism but the present site which is the original site chosen is considered the most suitable to serve the general area.
