Vol. 342 No. 12

Written Answers. - Mayo Land Acquisition.

546.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the outcome of the taking over of the lands of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo by the Land Commission 20 years ago; to whom the land was given; the acreage of land; the payments, if any, that were made to his family; the payment received from the sale of the house; whom this transaction benefited; the money or credit due to the members of his family; and when their due entitlements will be paid.

These lands comprising 26 acres, were acquired by the Land Commission in 1968 for the sum of £735 payable in 7½% Land Bonds. The purchase price, together with accrued interest, was paid to the owner in March 1979. The estate was allotted to a smallholder in connection with a scheme for enlargement and rearrangement in the locality. There was no dwellinghouse on the property. No further payment is due by the Land Commission.
