Vol. 343 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Garda Strength.

635.

asked the Minister for Justice if he intends to assign additional gardaí to the Tallaght area, County Dublin.

Limerick East): The detailed deployment of Garda manpower is a matter for the Garda authorities and the strength assigned to the various stations is reviewed from time to time to take account of changing needs and circumstances.

I am informed by the authorities that the overall Garda strength at Tallaght station has been increased from 46 on 30 May 1982 to 74 on 30 May 1983 and that four additional sergeants are being assigned there today. The question of further increases in strength at the centre will be kept under review according as the additional manpower at present in training and being recruited becomes available for assignment.
