1.
Cabinet papers and associated files are released on a 30-year basis and on that basis the records of the 1951-54 Government would fall to be released next year to the State Paper Office which shares a common staff with the Public Record Office. It is expected that when the National Archives Bill, at present under consideration, becomes law Departments generally will begin to release their papers on such a 30-year basis also.
