Vol. 343 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

583.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that an inspector from his Department suggested an adjustment in the house plans originally submitted for grant purposes by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick and that as a result of these suggested adjustments the house is now being refused a grant; and if he will make inquiries in the matter and clarify the situation.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house grant for the person named.

584.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a final inspection for a new house grant will be carried out for a person and when payment will be made (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

585.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a final inspection requested three months ago, for a new house grant and subsidy will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

There is no record in my Department of a request for a final inspection from the person named. However, in view of the information supplied by the Deputy, the file is being referred to my Department's inspector for inspection with a view to payment of a grant. When the applicant submits the date of execution of his mortgage, as requested by my Department on 14 June 1982, further consideration will be given to his application for a mortgage subsidy.

586.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Under the Housing Regulations 1980 (as amended) the latest date for completion of work and the receipt in the Department of a claim for payment of a grant was 30 June 1981. As this requirement was not complied with in this case, a grant cannot be paid.

587.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a £1,000 grant has not been granted to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will review the claim to see if there is any possibility of having a grant paid at this stage.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a £1,000 new house grant from the person named. However, an application in respect of a person of the same address with a different christian name was rejected in September 1980 because the foundations of the house were poured before 26 May 1977. It is a statutory condition of the relevant scheme that the grant is paid only in respect of houses where foundations were poured after that date. The applicant has been so informed.

588.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a cheque for a new house grant will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

This grant will be paid as soon as possible.

589.
