asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if he is aware of the urgent need for industrial employment in the Sneem area of County Kerry and of the offer of a site suitable for an industrial estate by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry to the IDA; and if he will make a statement on the efforts being made in recent months by the IDA towards the purchase of a site in Sneem.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they are promoting Sneem, County Kerry for suitable industrial development. The IDA propose to carry out a technical inspection of the site referred to in the Deputy's question in the near future.
