Vol. 343 No. 6

Written Answers. - Western Drainage Scheme.

94.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the proposals if any, he has for the extension of the western drainage scheme in the western parts of County Limerick.

The western drainage scheme already applies in those areas of west Limerick which are designated as disadvantaged areas under EEC regulations. An extension of the scheme to other areas in the county would require those areas to be declared disadvantaged. In this connection, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a number of question regarding the extension of the disadvantaged areas in general.
