Details of the contributions paid in the 1982-83 contribution year are not available so far. In the normal course of processing they will be added to the record of the person concerned during the autumn of this year, in time for the new benefit year commencing in January 1984. In the meantime, they will be shown on the form P60 received by him from his employer in April last.

On the basis of the contributions paid and credited on his behalf to date the person concerned will qualify for retirement pension at age 65 and for old age contributory pension at age 66. The rate of pension will depend on his contribution record from January 1973 to the end of the contribution year before he reaches the appropriate pension age, i.e. the end of 1986-87 or 1987-88. If he continues to maintain an average of 48 contributions, paid or credited, he will qualify for either pension at the maximum rate.

The citizenship of the person concerned at pension age will not affect payment of either pension.
