Vol. 343 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Wexford Tax Free Allowance.

721.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will correct the tax free allowance of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford as she is a mother of five children and as her husband is unemployed.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that according to the information available to the inspector of taxes the taxpayer's husband recommenced employment on 24 February 1983. There is no information available as to whether the taxpayer herself has also continued to be employed. A tax-free allowance certificate on a non-cumulative basis will be issued to her shortly. It appears to be the position that the husband and wife take over the duties of the same employment at different times.
