Mr. Leonard

asked the Taoiseach the tonnage and value of (a) timber exported and (b) fencing posts imported in 1982.

(Dún Laoghaire): Exports of timber in 1982 amounted to 370,000 tonnes, value £12.2 million. Fencing posts are not separately identified in the trade statistics.

4.

asked the Taoiseach the number of cubic metres of timber exported and imported (a) in a processed state and (b) in an unprocessed state in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982 and in 1983 up to the period for which figures are available.

(Dún Laoghaire): I propose to circulate a statement showing the information requested for the years 1976 to 1982 and for the period January-April 1983.
