asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans he has for the provision of industrial jobs at Castletownbere, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they have a total of 49,000 sq. ft. of factory space and 49.7 acres of land available at five locations in west Cork for industrial development. The IDA also have 11 acres of land in Kenmare, County Kerry.

The employment opportunities arising from projects secured for these factories will be of benefit to Castletownbere.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans he has for the provision of industrial jobs at Bantry, County Cork.

I am informed that the Industrial Development Authority are actively promoting their 24,000 sq. ft. advance factory, three 3,000 sq. ft. former Rowa factory in Bantry for suitable industrial development. The IDA also have a 7.6 acre industrial site available in the town.

The Lamella Industries Ltd. project announced for Bantry early in 1983, was relocated in Carrigtwohill by the promoter because of objections from local residents.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans he has for the creation of industrial jobs at Bandon, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that site work has commenced on the Schering Plough project at Innishannon, County Cork, which is six miles from Bandon. This project plans to employ 160 people in the world's first commercial-scale interferon manufacturing plant. In addition the new factory for the Telecom Alcatel project is nearing completion and when in full production is expected to give substantial employment.

The IDA are promoting the former Flocord factory and a 14 acre site in Bandon for suitable industrial development.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans he has for the creation of industrial jobs at Kinsale, County Cork.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that a new company will shortly commence production of rubber compounds in the IDA's 24,300 sq. ft. advance factory in Kinsale, County Cork. In addition, a small Dutch company which manufactures natural cosmetics has recently commenced production. These projects plan to employ 91 people at full production.

The IDA have 12 acres of land in the town which it is actively promoting for suitable industrial development.
