Vol. 344 No. 5

Written Answer. - Grant Payments.

614.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named. There is, however, an application from a person with a broadly similar name and address. On receipt of notification of completion of work in this case an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

615.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant for the person named. There is, however, an application from a person with the same surname at the address given and if this is the person being referred to, approval to a grant cannot be issued until the applicant submits Form S.L.4 (Tax Certificate) completed and stamped by the Inspector of Taxes, as requested on 13 April 1983.

When approval has been issued and applicant notifies my Department that the house is complete and occupied the file will be referred for final inspection with a view to payment of the grant.

616.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

On receipt of notification of completion of work an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

617.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

618.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. The grant will be paid shortly.

619.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a mortgage interest subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid shortly.

620.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a house reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and when it will be paid.

House improvement and water and sewerage grants of £120 and £75 respectively were paid to the person named in January, 1973.

A subsequent house improvement grant application received in March 1974 was rejected in the light of the then statutory limiting period of 15 years between grants.

There is no record in my Department of any further application in this case.

621.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

A grant will be paid when an inspection, which will be carried out shortly, establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and is occupied.
