Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - Galway School Extension.

1008.

asked the Minister for Education the stage at which the plans are for the proposed extension to Fr. Griffin Road vocational school, Galway; the factors causing the delay; if the land needed for the extension has yet been acquired; and when it is expected that work on the extension will be started.

There has been no undue delay in the processing of proposals from Galway Vocational Education Committee for the extension of the vocational school at Fr. Griffin Road. Negotiations are proceeding for the purchase of additional land in order to enable the extension to be undertaken. Discussions are also under way with the vocational committee in relation to the accommodation to be provided. As the planning of the extension is at an early stage, it is not possible to say now when work on the extension will commence.
