Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - School Transport.

1014.

asked the Minister for Education if allowances are being made to parents who paid for school bus tickets between January and May 1983; if she will make the necessary adjustments in calculating charges for the next school term; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to a reply to Questions Nos. 925 and 926 on Tuesday, 26 April 1983, in which it was stated that parents who had paid school transport charges in respect of pupils who qualified for exemption because their parents/legal guardians were holders of a medical card should apply directly to the local CIE office for a refund.

The charges payable in the school year 1983-84 will be those specified in the relevant school transport circulars.
