asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction an additional teacher for St. Paul's secondary school, Greenhills, Dublin 12, which is urgently required due to the rise in the number of pupils.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 1016 and 1017 together.
The appointment of teachers in secondary schools under the prescribed regulations and within the authorised quotas of staff is a matter for the managerial authorities of the schools. An appeal was received by the Department from the authorities of the school in question in relation to the quota of teachers to whom incremental salary would be paid in the 1983-84 school year. Having considered the views of the Quota Advisory Review Committee, the Department have conveyed its decision in the matter to the school authorities.
