asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant and a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The file in this case is with the inspector for investigation and report with a view to the allocation of a new house grant and mortgage subsidy.

If a new house grant is approved it will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is satisfactorily completed and occupied and all other conditions of the grant scheme have been complied with.

If a mortgage subsidy is approved payment of the first instalment will be made when the grant is paid and the applicant submits the appropriate claim form.
