Vol. 344 No. 9

Written Answers. - Castlecomer (Kilkenny) Sewerage Scheme.

265.

asked the Minister for the Environment when work will comence on the Clogh/Mooneeroe sewerage scheme in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny; the areas to be included for service in the proposed scheme; and when this scheme will be completed.

Clarification has been sought from Kilkenny County Council about certain technical aspects of the proposed scheme and the council have been invited to submit contract documents and working drawings for stages 1 and 2 of the scheme. While I cannot at this stage say when work on the scheme will comence, as soon as the documents have been agreed with the local authority the way will be clear for the local authority to invite tenders. I understand the scheme as planned is intended to serve the village of Clogh, the district of Mooneeroe and a local authority estate at Chatsworth.
