Vol. 345 No. 1

Written Answers. - AnCO Training Centre for Drogheda.

264.

asked the Minister for Labour if he has plans to set up an AnCO training centre in Drogheda, County Louth; if a site or premises have been acquired for such a centre; and, if so, when he visualises such a centre commencing operations.

In the plans announced in 1979 for the extension of its training centre network the Council of AnCO included provision for a small centre at Drogheda and acquired a site from the IDA industrial Estate, Donore Road. Following a productivity agreement in July 1983, which permitted substantially more people to be trained with existing resources, the council decided not to proceed with the construction of the new centre pending an examination of future needs.
