Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a group purchase scheme application was made in respect of an estate (details supplied) in County Galway; if a section 40 notice was served; and if he will make a statement on the proposals of the Land Commission for this estate.

Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy)

A section 40 notice was served in respect of these lands some months ago. Following an inspection the Land Commission decided to take no action towards their acquisition. The Land Commission have no information about a group purchase of this estate.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the area and location of land in the possession of the Land Commission in County Roscommon; the date of its acquisition; and when it is proposed to divide it.
