Vol. 345 No. 4

Written Answers. - Road Supervisor Travel Allowances.

234.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that a serious trade dispute is very likely to occur at Drogheda Corporation, County Louth, because of the delay in the payment of the new rates of travel allowances to three supervisors which has been agreed between union and management; from when the new rates will apply; and when arrears will be paid.

I am not so aware. My Department recently issued sanction to Drogheda Corporation for the revision of fixed travel allowances payable to certain supervisors. The implementation of the revised allowances and the payment of arrears are matters for the local authority.
