asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry (1) (a) the sum due by fishermen to BIM on foot of boats held by them under contract with BIM as at 30 September 1983; (b) the amount due by BIM to the Exchequer on foot of Central Fund advances received by it for the financing of fishing boats as at 30 September 1983; (c) the amount of Exchequer guarantees given to banks on foot of advances made by the banks to fishermen as at 30 September 1983; (2) the arrears, if any, of payments to the Exchequer on foot of Central Fund advances as at 30 September 1983 and the total repayments by way of (a) interest and (b) capital made by BIM to the Exchequer for 1980, 1981 and 1982; (3) the total amount received from fishermen by way of repayments on boats, engines, etc. for 1980, 1981 and 1982; (4) the number of boats repossessed by BIM between 1 January 1979 and 30 September 1983; (5) the number of boats sold up to 30 September 1983; (6) the number of resumed boats from fishermen which have not been sold at 30 September 1983; (7) the profit or loss on the sale of all these boats; (8) the loss to the Exchequer of boats resumed and sold between the period 1 January 1979 up to 30 September 1983; (9) the amount of arrears due by fishermen to BIM for the years ended 31 December 1980, 1981 and 1982; (10) the amount of arrears due by fishermen to banks covered by Government guarantee for the years ended 31 December 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982; (11) (a) the rent and rates paid from the start up to 30 September 1983 for the lease of BIM's unoccupied offices at Dún Laoghaire; and (b) whether a decision has been made to dispose of the lease or to transfer the staff of BIM to Dún Laoghaire and when the staff may be transferred, if the premises continue to be unoccupied.

I regret that it is not possible in the time available to collate the very considerable amount of information requested by the Deputy; I will communicate the information to the Deputy as soon as possible.
