Vol. 345 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowances.

252.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax free allowance will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a tax-free allowance certificate for the current year, 1983-84, was issued to the taxpayer on 25 October 1983. Any tax over-deducted from his earnings since the commencement of the taxpayer's present employment is refundable by the employer when the certificate is put into operation.

The delay in issuing the certificate was due to an oversight in the tax office and is regretted.
