Vol. 345 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tallaght (County Dublin) New Post Office.

335.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the new building which has been acquired for use as a branch post office at Old Bawn Road, Tallaght, County Dublin will be available for service; and if a decision has been taken not to proceed with the provision of the new post office at Tallaght town centre.

Because of difficulties with the lessor's title, it is not possible to have post office business transacted in the Old Bawn Road premises as had been planned. A decision regarding a new post office in the proposed town centre has been left over for review by the new postal company when the proposed town centre assumes a more tangible shape. In the meantime, the postal and counter service needs of the general area will be catered for by a sub-post office at Tallaght village and by new sub-post offices at Springfield and Aylesbury Estates.
