Vol. 345 No. 8

Written Answers - Inniskeen (Monaghan) Garda Station.

324.

Mr. Leonard

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to provide a Garda station at Inniskeen, County Monaghan.

The Department of Justice first approached the Commissioners of Public Works on 3 February 1982 seeking a report on the suitability of a property at Inniskeen for use as a Garda station. The premises were found to be unsuitable. An alternative premises was also found to be unsuitable.

The commissioners are currently investigating the suitability of a number of sites since it has not been possible to locate a suitable premises in the area. I cannot say at this juncture when accommodation can be provided for the gardaí at Inniskeen.
