Vol. 345 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

302.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application has been made for seven months.

The applicant in this case appears to have paid a price for the house in excess of that stated on the certificate of reasonable value (CRV). An inspection with a view to payment of a grant will not be carried out until this matter has been resolved.

303.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant at the maximum rate was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if the remainder of the grant will now be paid.

The applicant in this case applied for a grant under the old scheme of new house grants on 10 May 1976. A maximum grant of £400 was allocated on 25 June 1976 and an instalment of £200 was paid on 1 March 1977. The balance of the grant cannot now be paid as the person named failed to comply with a statutory condition of the scheme which required him to notify my Department by 31 January 1980 that the house was completed prior to 31 December 1978.
