Vol. 345 No. 11

Written Answers. - RTE Reception.

327.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that people in many parts of Limerick city have an inadequate RTE reception; and if he will investigate this matter with a view to having it rectified shortly.

RTE say that television reception in Limerick, which is provided by the Mullaghanish and Maghera transmitters, is generally acceptable. They are aware that there are some areas within the city where care must be taken with aerials in order to obtain optimum reception.

I understand that there was some interference to reception in the city recently from an unlicensed business radio system but that this problem has now been resolved.
