Vol. 346 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Mayo School.

370.

asked the Minister for Education when approval will be granted for the extension to a secondary school (details supplied) in County Mayo; if she is aware of the overcrowding that exists in the present accommodation and that the pre-fabs erected between 1972 and 1977 to cater for the increased numbers attending the school are now in a serious condition of disrepair; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The position is that this is one of a number of projects where architectural design has recently been completed. There is a review of all such projects being carried out at present to establish when they may proceed to the stage of seeking tenders. The manager of the Convent of Jesus and Mary secondary school, Crossmolina, will be informed as soon as it becomes possible to allow the seeking of tenders.
