Return to Writ: Dublin Central. - Introduction of New Member.

The Clerk of the Dáil made the following announcement:
I gcomhlíonadh Bhuan-Ordú céad tríocha a seacht de Bhuan-Orduithe Dháil Éireann i dtaobh Gnó Phoiblí, tá orm a chraoladh gur toghadh Tomás Lionárd don Dáil sa Chorrthoghchán a bhí ann an tríú lá is fiche de Shamhain, míle, naoi gcéad ochtó a trí, do Dháilcheantar Bhaile Átha Cliath Láir de chionn an Teachta Seoirse Ó Colla d'fháil bháis.
Tá an Rolla de Chomhaltaí sínithe ag an Teachta Tomás Lionárd de réir Bhuan-Ordú a hAon.
In compliance with Standing Order 137 of the Standing Orders of Dáil Éireann relative to Public Business, I have to announce that Tom Leonard has been elected to the Dáil at the By-Election held on 23 November 1983, for the Constituency of Dublin Central consequent on the death of Deputy George Colley.
Deputy Tom Leonard has signed the Roll of Members in accordance with Standing Order 1.
Deputy Tom Leonard, the new Member for the Constituency of Dublin Central, was introduced to the Ceann Comhairle by Deputy B. Ahern.

This is the first nail in the coffin.
