asked the Minister for Justice if he will introduce amending legislation to provide for the fixing of a purchase price in the absence of agreement to enable a tenant to purchase a ground rent from a ground landlord in respect of leases that have expired or which have less than 15 years to run from the date when the tenant first applies to purchase; and if he will make a statement on this matter in the light of the decision (details supplied) delivered by the Supreme Court on 14 November 1980.

Limerick East): The Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Bill, 1983, has now been circulated. The main purpose of the Bill is to bring about the changes in the law that are made necessary by the judgment of the Supreme Court referred to in the question.
