The engineering report on the proposed harbour improvement works at Cleggan is being prepared and should be forwarded to the Department of Fisheries and Forestry early next year. Other engineering commitments held up preparation of this report.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in proceeding with the construction of a new pier at Inishbofin harbour, County Galway.
There has been no undue delay in processing the proposal for a new pier at Inishbofin harbour. The Commissioners of Public Works are awaiting the completion by Galway County Council of certain procedures required in connection with the execution of the proposed works. In the meantime, the commissioners are proceeding with the preparation of contract documents for the scheme.
